Nadine Flood is National Secretary of the Community and Public Sector Union, an active and innovative trade union. Nadine has advocated and led campaigns for decent jobs, rights and living standards for working people and the importance of public services in major tax and economic debates. She leads a union committed to providing CPSU members a voice in decisions affecting their lives, through opportunities to be a union leader in their workplace and community.
Nadine has expanded her advocacy through significant national efforts as a Vice-President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions, Co-chair of Progress2017 and Leadership2016 civil society endeavours, the Crawford Australian Leadership Forum, member of the ALP National Executive, the 2014 Labour 20 (L20) union leaders group at the G20, the 2012 Prime Ministers Economic Forum and 2011 National Tax Forum.
Nadine is a Director on the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation Board, the tenth largest super fund in Australia. She sits on the Centre for Policy Development Board. Nadine holds a Bachelor of Economics and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has worked in the ACTU, in a US union, in EEO, government and civil society.
Nadine was recognised in the inaugural Australian Financial Review / Westpac 100 Women of Influence awards in 2012. The CPSU has also been recognised in multiple national and state union awards for rank and file leadership and effective campaigning, particularly for women.
Nadine is a part-time foster carer and lives in Sydney with her family.
